Hi All
Firstly a message from our Chairman Stuart Anderson
Update from the Chair
Dear member
Those of you who are continuing to bowl indoors during the summer, please be aware that there is some work going on around the club in order to enhance our facility.
Many of you will have seen our refreshed bowler's entry it is brighter now and has new carpet tiles laid and treated for damp, again this is work has been carried out by our volunteers which reduces the cost to us! Thank you, gents you know, who you are.
Our volunteer maintenance team are busy building new cupboards around the boilers.
Our sports hall will also be having a new paint job to freshen it up and hopefully the new colour scheme will encourage people looking to hire the hall as it will be neutral colours.
You will have noticed that the trophies are now on show, using the old bookcase shelves (shelves will be updated in due course), I feel that it is important to showcase our trophies which are won by members and having them in a prominent place helps to show them off.
We still have a book exchange however it has been downsized, please use it as a book swap donation for borrowing are always welcomed, likewise with jigsaws we have downsized them but if members swap them, we can carry on with this just on a smaller scale.
The bowls equipment for sale area has been moved to one of the old trophy cabinets clearing it from a rink wall table, it is a work in progress so bear with us please.
We are committed to provide members with the best possible experience that we can, and to that end we are investigating improvements to rinks 1 & 5, more information will follow.
The club is getting more involved with county leagues and competitions Terry coordinates this, I know he has been busy roping people into carrying out roles of captain for various squads thank you for volunteering.
Our involvement in county activities enables members to take part in the wider bowls community and who know’s we may yet get a county title on our trophy wall!
I will end this update with a plea to any member who has the time to offer in any way, please speak to a member of the committee help is always appreciated.
Happy bowling
Stuart
